A group of us stayed at the Borden Guesthouse back in October 2017 and we had a great time staying there. Rose has done a great job of restoring the old community hall

I'd highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Albany/Bluff Knoll. I could have obviously found an array of colorful options closer in Albany, but I'd have negligently missed out on a true rural Australian, sepia toned (thanks to the rolling hectares and hectares and hectares of wheat farms), self-sustaining, communal town experience still preserved (and even resurrected) by hard working people like owner Rose who is in turn such a pleasure to talk to. The place is rich in history and culture, and she had more to tell/show us (on the region) in an hour long chat than the Anzac Centre in Albany did on WW1 for 25 bucks. The place was grand enough for the price, and comes with a well-equipped kitchen, and a spacious lounge area with nicely lined artefacts. Not all rooms have attached bathrooms, but even the shared ones were more than just clean for use. The kitchen is stocked with essential items, but since this place is a bit remote it's highly recommended to be completely ready for the trip. The nearest BP only serves diesel, and it is hence better to fill it up in the Gnowengerup Roadhouse that's a 20mins drive from there. Bluff Knoll is just 35mins from the stay, and Albany is another forty mins from there. If you're driving from Perth in the night, remember to dine at Williams Ampol by 10pm before you turn left into Kataning. Don't forget to click pics between the two rusted out, disused gas pumps right before the property - gives the feels of a Midwest rancher.

Brand new, furnished rooms. My room was lovely and clean when I arrived. Very large communal area and the kitchen was well equipped with everything needed. Really nice piece of history, in a quiet little country town.Very close to the sterling ranges, the owners are also very friendly, with lots of knowledge of the local area. Would stay hear again, and recommend it! Thanks very much for a pleasant stay.

Whilst camping in horrible weather in Sterling Ranges area , we needed accommodation fast and lucky for us , Rose from Borden Guesthouse had rooms for us.An old hall from 1928 renovated to a wonderfully warm and homey invironment. So many bedrooms , 5 bathrooms with toilets, large fully equipped Kitchen , extra large open family - meals & resting area , wood fire place and all so fresh and comfortable. We were a small group of 3 adults and 5 children and we can't wait to stay again. We will have a few more friends staying next time with us.Affordable, Clean , Homely and fantastic owners.Stay here and you will love it...Thank you Rose

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable with a welcoming hostess and great kitchen facilities. The bathrooms are clean and modern with a plentiful supply of hot water.. The wood fire was a bonus with a good stock of firewood. Beds / rooms r extremely comfortable. Plenty of room to move about in. Very happy travellers...hope to come back again in the future.
